We sat outside at the bar which was nicely shaded. Bartender was really nice. We had someone with us that doesn't drink much and the bartender was able to make something she liked. Drinks were both delicious and beautiful. The snapper ceviche with the tiger broth is absolutely amazing!!! I will be coming back especially for that! Lots of nice photo ops outside! Such a beautiful place. Drink prices are fair as well!
Came here for a brunch, beautiful atmosphere, the music was all over the place and didn’t match the ambiance, service wasn’t very good at all, she was nice but one of the lower tier services i’ve experienced in austin, especially for a nicer place. food was alright but nothing special, the carnitas taco was very good but the bacon one was not, the server set an alcoholic drink in front of me two different times despite me not ordering any alcohol at all, took an hour before we got to order any food, just not much attention was paid i feel and probably wouldn’t come back! cute place though
The service was pretty good. The bar was also limited on good whiskey and tequila options, but they made a good old fashioned with makers. The views here are very nice on the rooftop. Very nice patio. The music isn't very good. I'd recommend make a reservation if you want a table or seat.
*I do like the staying at the Thompson hotel, aside from my 4 star review of the rooftop bar and restaurant
I am a bit disappointed with this place. The atmosphere is great and it would have been a great place to hangout with friends however, the service was not good. The server would disappear for long stretches and was not very friendly when we asked what would they recommend.
The food was not bad but it wasn't great either. The drinks we tried were not at all impressive. I had higher expectations from this place.
Great ambiance and friendly service. Food and drinks were good. Vegan options were available. The mushroom tinga taco was good albeit a little spicier than my stomach wanted when paired with cocktails.
We came for my friends birthday brunch. Trinity took care of the entire 10 top table with grace and was so kind and professional. Trinity really made this first experience at Wax Myrtle memorable and I will be back hopefully in her section!! Thanks Trinity!!
Great ambience, service and food!! They have a beautiful rooftop lounge seating overlooking downtown
We got boiled peanuts hummus and spicy pecan pepper dips. It came with side of bread. The dips were amazing especially the hummus. The spicy pecan pepper dip had a nice tangy flavor from the pomegranate. We were full from all the bread we kept eating. We also got the ceaser and gem salads. Both of them were fresh and light.
For entrees we got the burger and sweet potato tacos. The burger was tasty with the right amount of sauce, cheese and meat paty cooked nicely. The sweet potato tacos were excellent as well with crunchy chickpeas and pickled onions. Overall had a great lunch time and the service was on point.
Hidden away in the Thompson Hotel, great spot for drinks on the 4th floor patio with a DJ on Sat and Sunday afternoon. Games on the TV inside and great bartenders!
